I have a personal connection to the ship. Not only do I live close by the Cutty Sark, it has also been a source of personal and professional enjoyment to me and visiting friends for many years. As a student, I witnessed its transformation during the ship’s extended restoration after the fire. It was an inspiration to me. Since then, I worked at the National Maritime Museum where I developed a better understanding of maritime history. As a charity, the Cutty Sark relies on public support. That’s why I’ve decided to run in support of their mission to maintain this beautiful piece of England’s history.
